Vale Victor Winterford
Pottsville Sports Club is saddened to share the passing of Victor Winterford, a valued member of the RSL Sub-Branch at Pottsville and a respected World War II veteran.
Victor served as a Signalman during the war, enlisting on 20 January 1944 and serving until his discharge on 18 November 1946. He was known for his loyalty to friends and fellow veterans, and led this year’s ANZAC march alongside the two other remaining WWII veterans.
“Victor was a true mate and will be deeply missed by us all,” said Merv Mason, President of the Pottsville RSL Sub-Branch. “His loyalty to his fellow veterans and the community was unwavering.”
Victor’s will never be forgotten. His legacy will live on through the memories and stories shared by those who knew him.
